Privacy Policy
Snifter ("the App", "we", "us") is built to work entirely on your device. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App handles, if any, and how.
Information We Collect
Snifter does not require an account or sign-in, and it never collects or sells personal information such as your name, email address, or contacts. Apart from the anonymous usage statistics described under "Analytics" below, nothing leaves your device — the App works by design without a server of ours.
Your bar inventory, drink log, and settings are stored locally on your device using standard iOS storage. We do not have access to this data, and it is never sent to us or to any third party.
Photos and Camera
If you use the shelf-scan feature to add bottles, the photo is processed entirely on your device to detect labels. Photos are never uploaded, stored on a server, or shared with any third party. You can also add bottles by hand without using the camera at all.
Purchases
Snifter Pro is a one-time purchase handled entirely by Apple through the App Store and StoreKit. We never see or store your payment details, name, or billing address — Apple's own privacy policy governs that transaction.
Analytics
The App collects anonymous, aggregated usage statistics using Google Analytics for Firebase — for example, that the app was opened or that the one-time purchase screen was shown. These statistics are identified only by a random, per-install identifier; they are not linked to your name, email, or any account (the App has none), they are never used for advertising or cross-app tracking, and they are never sold. We use them solely to understand which features matter so we can improve the App. Google processes this data on our behalf as described in Google's privacy policy.
Your bar inventory, drink log, photos, and anything you type or scan are never part of these statistics — that data stays on your device, as described above. The App works fully offline; without a network connection it simply works and sends nothing.
Children
Snifter contains content related to alcoholic beverages and is intended for adults of legal drinking age. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
Data Deletion
Because nothing leaves your device, deleting the App deletes all of its data with it. There is nothing stored on our servers to delete, because we don't operate one for this data.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
